A course in taking services of worship, leading to a General Assembly recognised qualification
will take place at St Mark’s from 11 am to 4 pm on the following Saturdays
10 September, 24 September and 1 October
The course will take the form of a series of workshops for those interested in leading worship in their own or other churches, or who are interested in increasing their participation in services led by others. Participants will benefit from the expertise of others.
Topics will include:
What do we mean by worship? Themes, Prayers, Structuring a Unitarian service of worship, Presentation, Music, Reflections, Poetry, Practicalities, Use of Technology, Something for children? Communication, using texts from other faiths
The course meets the requirements of the WSC panel for the WSC Foundation Level Certificate. Those wishing to obtain the GA recognised WSC Foundation Level Certificate* will need to deliver two original services for assessment following the course.
The SUA has agreed to offer financial support with travelling expenses.
Cost of lunch, (and if required the purchase* of ABC of Lay Preaching) to be borne by the individual.
