For Pagans, Beltane is a fire festival which celebrates the arrival of summer and the fertility of the coming year. Fires were lit to celebrate the return of life and the burning away of winter. These fires were thought to cleanse, purify and increase fertility.

In order to go through life, do we need to fool ourselves into thinking we're a bigger part of the universe than we really are? Does the vastness of time and space make human life seem more insignificant, or more precious?

If your understanding of 'God' is of a power or energy which infuses all that is and energy cannot be created or destroyed, then God cannot forsake us, but we certainly can forsake God.
