CIVIL PARTNERSHIPS

Unitarians have campaigned for equality in Civil Partnerships, and as of 2021 we are recognised as a group able to conduct Civil Partnership ceremonies, regardless of gender. What we can offer is a ceremony which has been created to truly reflect your wishes, your relationship, which is at the heart of all our ceremonies. Unitarians believe when planning your Civil Partnership ceremony, it is important that the ceremony is relevant to you both, and your relationship, a Unitarian ceremony can incorporate readings, music, and promises from many diverse sources.

We can create and conduct ceremonies for those who have no religious beliefs, those who find their spirituality does not align with any particular religious philosophy, as well as those wishing to have a ceremony which acknowledges their differing perspectives.

Your ceremony need not be confined to a church, or any particular building, and may take place in a setting of your choice, as agreed with the Celebrant. We encourage you to choose, or compose, your own words, which reflect the unique nature of your relationship.

All Unitarian Ministers & Celebrants in Scotland are registered with the Office of the Registrar General for the conduct Marriage and Civil Partnership ceremonies in Scotland.
