WELCOMING CHILDREN
Unitarians offer ceremonies to welcome children to all, regardless of personal beliefs, or religious affiliation. These may be in the form of a Naming, Blessing, or Baptism.
It is an honour to welcome a child into a community, and we aim to provide a ceremony which celebrates the arrival of your child into the world, and greater community of which we are all a part.
Ceremonies may take place during a Sunday morning service, or at other times; they may be held in the Church, at your home, a garden, or another place of your choosing.
The nature of our ceremonies is one of welcome and celebration, explored through music and readings, to reflect the culture, wishes, and choices of you and your family.
Our ceremonies do not require any set promises, need for God Parents, or Sponsors, unless that is your wish. We would be pleased to include anyone in the ceremony who you feel has a role to play in the life of your child, or family.
